36 And now, verily I say unto
you, and what I say unto one I say unto all, be of good cheer, little children;
for I am in your midst, and I have not forsaken you;
37 And inasmuch as you have humbled yourselves before
me, the blessings of the kingdom are yours.
38 Gird up your loins and be watchful and be sober,
looking forth for the coming of the Son of Man, for he cometh in an hour you
think not.
39 Pray always that you enter not into temptation, that
you may abide the day of his coming, whether in life or in death. Even so.
Amen.
2 But
with some I am not well pleased, for they will not open theirmouths,
but they hide thetalentwhich I have given unto them, because
of thefearof man. Wo unto such, for mineangeriskindledagainst them.
We have all been given talents.
We need to use them. Fear not.
7 Thou shalt thank the Lord thy God in all things.
8 Thou shalt offer a sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in righteousness, even that of a broken heart and a contrite spirit.
9 And that thou mayest more fully keep thyself unspotted from the world, thou shalt go to the house of prayer and offer up thy sacraments upon my holy day;
10 For verily this is a day appointed unto you to rest from your labors, and to pay thy devotions unto the Most High;
26 For behold,
it is not meet that I should command in all things; for he that is compelled in
all things, the same is a slothful and not a wise servant; wherefore he
receiveth no reward.
27 Verily I say,
men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their
own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness;
28 For the power
is in them, wherein they are agents unto themselves. And inasmuch as men do
good they shall in nowise lose their reward.
42 Behold, he who has
repented of his sins, the same is forgiven, and I, the Lord, remember them no
more.
The Lord reveals that Independence, Missouri, is the place that
Zion is to be built. The temple site is
also revealed. Our Father in Heaven and
Jesus Christ want us to be firmly “planted” in gospel soil. We must bloom where we are planted and not
always think that there would be a better place to live or work or attend church.
10 And
again, bepatientin tribulation until Icome; and, behold, I come quickly, and
myrewardis with me, and they who havesoughtme early shall findrestto
their souls. Even so. Amen.
“Sought me early,” means to not procrastinate, to think of Him
first, to seek to know Him, and to love Him with all of our hearts.
5 And
again, verily I say unto you, for this cause you shall take your journey with
my servants Joseph Smith, Jun., and Sidney Rigdon, that you may beplantedin the land of your inheritance to do
this work.
This teaches me that we should “bloom where we are planted.”
Jon, Tina, and their children are being asked by the Lord to do this in Murray,
Utah during this season of their lives.
