Section 126

Brigham Young was truly beloved of the Lord. He served several missions prior to becoming the prophet of the church.  After serving away from his family for many years, the Lord commended him, then, commanded him to stay home and take care of his family.  The greatest mission we can serve is to our family.  We must work and wear out our lives to bring them safely back to the Savior.

Section 124

Hyrum Smith was a loyal brother and friend to Joseph Smith, the prophet.  I honor him and hope I can be like him: always supportive of the prophet and forever loyal to my family.
15 And again, verily I say unto you, blessed is my servant Hyrum Smith; for I, the Lord, love him because of the integrity of his heart, and because he loveth that which is right before me, saith the Lord.

Section 125

Joseph asked: “What is the will of the Lord…?” The doctrine that we can ask, seek, and knock—fully expecting the Lord to hear and answer—is a tender and crucial doctrine indeed. Jean and I have often sought answers to our prayers regarding our children and marriage.  Our Father in Heaven has heard each of our prayers and answered us according to his will and wisdom.  It has been our experience that it is wise to explore the options available and open as many doors as possible.  Then we try to converse freely about our feelings working assiduously through the problems we face.  Our prayers continue at each turn.  Doors begin to close one by one until the correct course (door) presents itself.  Then we go to the Lord with a request for confirmation/affirmation.  Often he requires us to take a step forward into the dark, acting in faith, and then the feeling that what he have chosen is right comes to our hearts and minds.  We feel peace.
