Section 134

This section was written by Oliver Cowdery. It is a declaration of the same separation of church and state doctrine that is in place in our country today. 

1 We believe that governments were instituted of God for the benefit of man; and that he holds men accountable for their acts in relation to them, both in making laws and administering them, for the good and safety of society.

In Joseph’s Smith’s words: (12^th Article of Faith):

12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

Section 133

The Lord Jesus Christ will return again to the earth.  He will be clothed in red apparel, symbolic of the blood he shed for us.  When he comes there shall be heavenly songs sung day and night.  The reason he restored his gospel again to the earth through Joseph Smith was to prepare the earth’s inhabitants for his Second Coming.

Section 132

This section reiterates my strong belief in eternal families and being sealed by the priesthood of God for time and eternity. Also, the need to have the Holy Ghost ratify our actions.  We can’t lie to the Holy Ghost, so if we want his companionship we must be honest with ourselves in thought and behavior.  Then we can expect his ratification of all we do.  Thus, the Holy Spirit of Promise will seal us together forever.
