In
this section the Lord instructs the First Presidency in their duties, and I
found that much of the Lord’s counsel to them applies to me personally:
1 Thus saith the Lord, verily,
verily I say unto you my son, thy sins are forgiven thee, according to thy
petition, for thy prayers and the prayers of thy brethren have come up into my
ears.
18 Set in order your houses;
keep slothfulness and uncleanness far from you.
24 Search diligently, pray
always, and be believing, and all things shall work together for your good, if
ye walk uprightly and remember the covenant wherewith ye have covenanted one
with another.
Specifically,
the First Presidency hold all the keys necessary to direct the work of the Lord
on the Earth until He returns again. At the time of this revelation it was
Joseph Smith, Sydney Rigdon, and Fredrick G. Williams. At present, it is Thomas S. Monson, Henry B.
Eyring, and Dieter F. Uchtdorf. I want
the reader to know that I love and sustain the First Presidency. I believe them to be prophets, seers, and
revelators. I believe Joseph Smith was
and is also God’s mouthpiece for this earth.
